Here at Airstream Services, we believe in giving our customers the right knowledge and tools to stay comfortable without having to empty their wallets. Here are some quick tips to help save money on your utility bill.
1. Consider replacing your old unit with a newer, more efficient model
If your unit is more than 10 years old, there’s a good chance that it not as efficient as a new model. Newer models that are energy rated to at least 14 SEER can consume as much as 50% less than older models. It’s high cost option but a new unit will pay for itself in the long run.
2. Have more control over your HVAC system with a programmable thermostat
Do you want full control over your HVAC system? A programmable thermostat provides you with flexibility of providing a schedule that fits your household. This added control will not only save you money but will also extend the life of your system.
3. Replace those air filters
Easy to change but also easy to forget, air filters are the first line of defense for your a/c system. They keep dirt and allergens out of your ducts and out of your lungs.
4. Check your vents to make sure they’re clean and open
Floor vents are most prone to this issue. Vents can accidentally get shut, blocked or clogged with dirt. If you sense a varying temperature in a room, check the vent!
